Conservatory Audition

Audition Information

Prospective students for the Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Music Minor programs will conduct an interview with a member of the conservatory faculty and audition in their performance area.  Students who are interested in the music minor may elect to audition after they arrive on campus.

All students who wish to enroll in a Sunderman Conservatory of Music degree program must be admitted to Gettysburg College by the Admissions Office through the standard admissions process and must be accepted for study by the conservatory faculty through audition.

All prospective students will submit the Music Profile Form before an interview or audition is scheduled.  Auditions must be scheduled three weeks in advance.  To schedule an audition or an interview with a faculty member, please contact Diane MacBeth (or 717-337-6131).  An existing audition appointment may be rescheduled one time due to an extenuating conflict.  For all other inquiries regarding the music program or audition requirements, please contact Dr. Teresa Bowers (717-337-6134). 

Audition Dates

November 7 and 8, 2008- Conservatory Open House
January 23 and 24, 2009
February 6 and 7, 2009 

While all students are highly encouraged to perform their audition in person, we realize that distance or other extenuating circumstances may make this impossible.  Prospective students may request permission to submit a recording in lieu of an on-sight audition.  The recording should be of the highest quality; a DVD is preferred but we will also accept a CD.  If at all possible, the audition should be submitted electronically as an mp3 file.  Two letters of recommendation are required for a recorded audition.  Recordings and letters should be directed to Dr. Teresa Bowers (or 717-337-6134) at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music, 300 N.
