Hotel Reviews
Brafferton Inn
44 York Street
(717) 337-3423 or (866) 337-3423
Cosy, clean, and the homemade breakfast is fabulous! Choose your room online--each room has a different theme. The mother/son owners are so accommodating and very nice. You can't beat the location.
Country Inn and Suites
1857 Gettysburg Village Drive
(717) 337-9518
For two of our three visits to Gettysburg we've stayed at the Country Inn and Suites at Gettysburg Village. The hotel was a very comfortable place to stay with the added bonus of being near the outlets. The suite rooms have a sitting room and bedroom which allows the occupants to have a little more space. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have some nice amenities like a refrigerator and microwave. Above all else, the staff is polite and helpful. There are less expensive hotels, but for the price, we liked Country Inn and Suites and we will stay there again. It is about a five to ten minute ride to campus, depending on the time of day, so be sure to build in transit time.
Courtyard by Marriott
115 Presidential Circle
(717) 334-5600
This hotel is a little further out of town than the others. We ended up here by default once, but we love it. It feels like a resort with its beautiful pool and fitness center and wonderful breakfast buffet. It costs a little more than the Hilton but offers more if you have time to take advantage of the amenities. When you stay here, it actually feels like you are on vacation!

We initially stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and it was nice, but less convenient than The Gettysburg Hotel. In addition to the accommodations being excellent and very moderately priced, we enjoyed their dining facilities for both breakfast and dinner.

I would recommend both this [Wyndham Gettysburg] and the Marriott next door with the added bonus you can walk to the movie theatres and the restaurants right on the same parking lot as these two properties.
The Gettysburg Hotel (Best Western)
1 Lincoln Square
(717) 337-2000
We stayed here last time we were in Gettysburg, and we thought it was just great. It is perfectly located in the center of town, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and there are some very helpful folks at the front desk.

We have had wonderful experiences at The Gettysburg Hotel. Most importantly, we feel the convenience can not be beat.
The Hilton Garden Inn
1061 York Street
(717) 334-2040
This hotel is typical of the Hilton Garden chain. It is welcoming and offers nice touches, has a good breakfast and nice rooms. Two thumbs up.
James Gettys Hotel
27 1/2 Chambersburg Street
(717) 337-1334
This is the first hotel that we stayed in, and we thought it was wonderful. Most of the rooms are suites, and this is great if you need to accommodate an extra person. There are cookies and muffins and juice provided in the kitchenette. It is clean and spacious and located right downtown. If you are going to be arriving very late, it is necessary to communicate this because it is a small hotel and check-in technically is from 3 - 8 p.m. An added benefit is that it was once a hospital for Civil War soldiers, so there is a sense of history.
Wyndham Gettysburg
95 Presidential Circle
(717) 339-0020
We stayed at the new Marriott last year at the same address (Presidential Circle) and absolutely loved it...watched them build this new Wyndham and decided we'd try that this time. Equally nice property--a bit more "upscale" and as a "Wyndham by request" member, I was greeted with a complimentary split of wine in the room and a cheese and fruit plate which we happily wolfed down after 8 long hours in the car! Also a nice note from the manager with a complimentary desert card for the 1863 restaurant downstairs. So what's not to love?! I would recommend both this and the Marriott next door with the added bonus you can walk to the movie theatres and the restaurants right on the same parking lot as these two properties.
