Emilio Cuenca '10
Orientation Leader
Emilio Cuenca is a rising junior and has enjoyed his Gettysburg College experience thus far, but also looks forward to the opportunities and good times yet to come. He is an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha, the Tae Kwon Do Club, and involved in various performance groups and ensembles in the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. As a Piano Performance major, Emilio is part of the first generation of the Bachelor of Music degree at Gettysburg, requiring many hours of practice and constant dedication. As his years at Gettysburg go by, he looks to increase the leadership opportunities he can take part in.
AJ Nappo '10
Resident Assistant
AJ Nappo is a Junior from Westtown, NY, majoring in History with a double-Minor in Education and Spanish. A.J. is currently the President of the Class of 2010, the Sergeant at Arms of Alpha Phi Omega, Gettysburg's coed service Fraternity, a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and a musician in the College Jazz Ensemble. Additionally, A.J. volunteers weekly at the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen, and teaches English at the Adams County Literacy Council. He is so excited to meet the Class of 2012 and all of his residents!
Melissa Schmidt '09
Orientation Leader
Melissa Schmidt was born near Morris Plains, New Jersey. The eldest of four, she attended the Academy of Saint Elizabeth for high school where she found her passion for math, science, and health professions. She is currently a senior physics major with a pre-med concentration. She is not sure what exactly her future holds but is confident that Gettysburg College will leave her ready for the "real world."
Kayla Toher '09
Orientation Leader
Kayla Toher hails from the tiny town of Proctor, Vermont and is now a senior at Gettysburg College pursuing a major in English and a double minor in Writing and Secondary Education. While at Gettysburg, she has been very active with the equestrian team and served as one of its co-presidents last year. She also writes for the student newspaper on campus, the Gettysburgian, is a tour guide for admissions, and has enjoyed the volunteer activities she has done through the Center for Public Service. In addition, Kayla is looking forward to student teaching in the spring of 2009.

Maxine Kutner '11
Orientation Leader
Maxine Kutner is a rising sophomore who hails from Westchester, New York. She is a Psychology major and a Neuroscience minor. She is a member of the Gettysburg's swim team (2008 Centennial Conference Champions) which she enjoys very much. Swimming takes up most of her time but when she's not swimming, she is a member of the pre-health professions club, and a club representative for student senate. She loves hanging out with her teammates and friends. She is a huge television fan, especially Grey's Anatomy! She cannot wait to welcome the class of 2012 and have an amazing Orientation!
Curtis Lafferty '09
Orientation Leader
Curtis Lafferty is a rising senior who has thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience that Gettysburg College has provided for him and looks forward to his final year. He has been involved with several working departments such as the Office of Student Activities, Residence Life, Campus Public Safety, and also serves as the president of his Greek Organization, Lambda Chi Alpha. Attending Gettysburg College has given him the ability to achieve more than what he ever expected. For all incoming First-Year Students, Curtis recommends that you take advantage of all that the school has to offer, you won't regret it.
Kelley McConville '09
Resident Coordinator
Kelly McConville is a senior biology major and neuroscience minor from Maryland. She hopes to become a veterinarian in the future. She enjoys horseback riding, playing tennis, and volunteering. She is a part of the service fraternity APO, volunteers at El Centro, where she tutors Hispanic children, and is a member of the equestrian team. She will be going to Belize this summer for an animal science program. She is really excited to be the RC of Huber next year and can't wait to meet the new first-year students!

Jake Asplundh '10
Orientation Leader
Jake Asplundh is a sophomore Economics major with a minor in Mathematics. Jake resides in North Eastern Philadelphia, so the drive is not long for him. Jake joined the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha in the fall and has learned a lot about brotherhood. Jake is an active member in several clubs on campus, and plans to go abroad to Chile next spring. Jake interned at Merrill Lynch in Philadelphia this past summer and is interning again this summer. Jake is ecstatic to be at Gettysburg College.
Erin Ober '09
Orientation Leader
Erin Ober is a rising senior from Towson, Maryland. She is a Health Science major here at Gettysburg and plans to go to graduate school for physical therapy. Erin is a member of the Gettysburg College softball team, the honor commission and colleges against cancer. She studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark in the fall of 2007, which turned out to be one of the best experiences of her life. Erin is excited to be an orientation leader for the class of 2012 and she can't wait to help with their difficult transition into college.
Bri Piecyz '11
Resident Assistant
Bri Piecyk is a sophomore with an expected Spanish major and Education/Africana Studies minor, proud to have grown up in South Jersey, 40 minutes from Philly and the lovely Jersey shore. She is in drum line for the Bullet Marching Band, and plays percussion for the Symphonic Band. She works in the Office of Academic Advising, does Dance Ensemble, and is a member of the Jazz Appreciation Society. Bri enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, and she LOVES the Beatles and Hanson. She is excited to be working as an intern in a law office in DC this summer, and cannot wait to meet everyone in 2012!
Sam Sack '11
Resident Assistant
Sam Sack is a junior Economics major hailing from New York. Although a very laid back person, he enjoys staying busy with classes and work. He is most likely to be found in Plank gym training for the upcoming intramural basketball season. He also plays club volleyball here at Gettysburg, and in high school won two New England Championships and was twice named to the New England All-Star team. He enjoys traveling the world and checking out foods from far away lands, although nothing beats a good hamburger. This past summer he worked for Morgan Stanley, loved it, and is ready to start up another year here at the 'burg.
