How to Access databases from off-campus

• Sage Journals Online - provides online access to the full text of individual SAGE journals. SAGE Publications publishes over 485 journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine.
• ScienceDirect - provides fulltext articles from journals published by Elsevier Science. Article years vary by journal. Note: journals in the ScienceDirect database are also available through MUSCAT.
• SciFinder Scholar - provides citations to chemistry articles 1907-present (this is Chemical Abstracts online). Note: You must download client software to use SciFinder Scholar. This software has already been installed on campus lab computers. Gettysburg College faculty and students should contact a reference librarian, or call the Reference Desk at x6600 for instructions and passwords for downloading the client in offices or residence halls.
• Scopus - provides abstracts and citations of research literature and quality web sources in the sciences updated daily.
• Scottish Women Poets of the Romantic Period - includes the fulltext of poems and critical and biographicaL essays.
• Smithsonian Global Sound - Provides access to over 35,000 individual tracks of music, spoken word, and natural and human-made sounds.
• Social Sciences Abstracts - provides citations to articles on all the social sciences from 1983-present.
• Social Services Abstracts - Provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development.
• Sociological Abstracts - provides citations to sociology, social work, & other social sciences articles from 1963-present.
• SourceOECD - Provides full-text content in PDF format for all OECD Books and Periodicals published since 1998 and the use of OECD databases to interactively create customized data extractions for downloading as MS Excel spreadsheets.
• SPORTDiscus - provides citations and abstracts to sport, sport science, physical fitness, and recreation articles from 1975-present.
• Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy - provides entries by hundreds of experts from the international philosophy community.
• Standard & Poor's Net Advantage - provides company and industry information, including Standard & Poor's Industry Surveys (these cover material from previous nine years).
• STAT-USA - provides current business, trade and economic information (including statistics) from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.
• Supreme Court Decisions (1937-1975) - provides fulltext Supreme Court decisions as reported in U.S. Reports from 1937-1975. Note: free access to this database is provided via the National Technical Information Service.
