The Digital Support Center in Musselman Library serves Gettysburg College's commitment to the principle of active learning by putting state-of-the-art technology into the hands of students and faculty.

The Center provides access to the types of digital multi-media technologies (including images, text, sound, and video) that engage students in dynamic projects and enhance their educational experience. It also allows students to develop the technological literacy vital in today's world.

With the generous support of the George I. Alden Trust, Musselman Library and Information Technology successfully collaborated to create a Center that has proven to be a popular resource for both students and faculty.

The self-service Center provides easy-to-use equipment, clear instructional information, and a staff of student facilitators who offer training and assistance.

Students and faculty can check out an assortment of digital still and video cameras, tripods, digital audio recorders, data projectors, and portable DVD players.

There is also a wide range of equipment available for use in the Center, such as scanners, poster printers, video editing equipment, and media conversion stations to update cassettes into CDs and VHS tapes to DVDs.

For more complex projects, the Digital Studio offers a station for photographic work requiring special lighting or back drops; a high-level image editing station; and an audio recording booth.

The Center also offers a comfortable work space with access to computers; or for those who bring their own laptops, access to a gigabit data connection that provides the fastest internet connection on campus.
