Requesting a Journal Subscription
Starting a journal subscription:
Faculty suggestions for new library subscriptions to print or electronic journals may be submitted at anytime. However, due to library funding and publishing schedules, requests may not be acted upon in the same academic year as submitted.
Suggestions for new journal subscriptions must be made on the New Journal Suggestion form and must have the approval and signature of the Department Chair or Program Coordinator. Please print and complete the form and then forward it to the Librarian Liaison for your department.
A sample issue of the journal must be obtained before the title can be considered. In some cases, the Librarian Liaison may ask the department to provide the sample. Should you have any questions about this process, please contact your Librarian Liaison.
Canceling a journal subscription:
A department or program may request that a library
subscription be canceled if the journal content no longer meets the curriculum
needs of the department. Departments may also consider canceling a title to
replace it with a new title that is more desirable. Cancellation requests may be
made at any time by submitting a completed Journal Cancellation Form to
your Librarian Liaison. As with new journal
requests, the cancellation request must be approved by the Department Chair or
Program Coordinator.
