Learning is Not a Spectator Sport

This Seminar will be a study of contemporary theories and models of learning and critical inquiry. We will review portraits of exceptional individuals and seek to create and answer questions such as: What defines active and engaged learning? How do approaches to learning, thinking, and creativity differ among individuals? How can thoughtful reflection empower learning? What are the differences among knowing, understanding, and learning? We will learn about ourselves as learners, understand critical differences in learning styles, reflect on our learning history, and construct effective learning strategies for our future.
