Employee Handbook Section Fifteen: CONCLUSION

Any Questions?

This handbook has described the principal benefits and obligations in working at Gettysburg College. It is impossible, however, for any booklet to cover every situation that may arise in daily work. Ask your supervisor if you need further information or are in doubt as to how any of these practices or procedures applies to you. He/she will answer your question or get the answer for you. The Human Resources Office also is available to assist you.

Contents of This Handbook

The contents of this handbook are for your information only. While the College believes wholeheartedly in the practices and procedures described in this handbook, they are not necessarily the conditions of employment. The College reserves the right to modify, revoke, suspend, terminate, or change any or all such plans, practices, or procedures, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.

Ideas, Suggestions, Problem Solving

Gettysburg College welcomes your suggestions for ways that will help the employee and the College work together more effectively. The employee may bring suggestions to his/her supervisor or to the Director of Human Resources.

As discussed earlier in this handbook, in any work situation, problems may arise involving working conditions, relationships with fellow workers, and other related matters. When a problem arises that affects you, you should follow the procedures outlined in Section 10, entitled "Employee Standards of Conduct, Subsection Grievance Procedure."

If the problem concerns illegal discrimination (e.g. on the basis of your sex or disability), you may wish to confer with the College's Human Resources Office to discuss the College's grievance procedures under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and/or the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Revisions of this handbook will be issued from time to time. Your suggestions as to how it can be more helpful are always welcome and should be directed to the Human Resources Office.
