Employee Handbook Section Fourteen: TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT

Resignation of Employment

Employees are requested to give written notice of their intent to resign. Administrators are requested to give four weeks notice and support staff are requested to give two weeks notice in advance of their final work day.

Layoff

If the College must reduce employment because of adverse economic or other
conditions, layoffs and recall from layoffs will be conducted consistent with College requirements and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

Retirement

Employees who are considering retirement are advised to contact the Human Resources Office at least three months in advance of the anticipated retirement date in order to ensure that benefits begin on the requested date. Employees hired on or before December 31, 1991, who are at least age 55 with 10 years of service with the College, qualify for medical benefits in retirement.

Additional details concerning the retirement plans and/or options that are available can be obtained from the Human Resources Office.
