A specialist in labor economics, Fletcher earned a bachelor's from the University of Missouri, and a master's and doctorate in economics from Washington University. She has written on a variety of topics, including "Female Wage Structure and Occupational Choice" and "Tracking the Distributional Effects of Energy Policy." Prior to teaching at Gettysburg College, she worked at the Center for Naval Analysis and the Department of Energy.
