Charlie Emmons
Professor of Sociology

A member of the Gettysburg College faculty since 1974, Emmons earned a bachelor's degree from Gannon University and master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois. He has served as a consultant to the Mutual UFO Network and has contributed to three television productions about the Ghosts of Gettysburg. He is the author of At the Threshold: UFOs, Science and the New Age (1997), Chinese Ghosts and ESP: A Study of Paranormal Beliefs and Experiences (1982), and Hong Kong Prepares for 1997: Political Participation and Emigration in 1987 (1988). Emmons speaks eight foreign languages and has widely varying interests that include mass media, popular culture, music, the sociology of science, and the paranormal.
