Intercultural Advancement

Thank you for visiting our website.  Our site is currently under construction.  Please view our Calendar for Fall 2008 events.
 What We Do

The Intercultural Resource Center functions as the primary space for cultural interaction on campus.  It is home to students from diverse backgrounds, including international students, and for those interested in learning about and participating more fully in our multicultural society.

 Who We Are

The center staff, from the Dean to the student workers, help make the IRC and embracing, open and warm environment.  Together we strive to prove opportunities the enhance personal connection and growth.  We proudly represent a variety of cultural backgrounds and social expressions.

 Our Space

The IRC is equipped with a computer lab, tv room, lounge area, conference room and kitchenette.  Students have access to the facility during and after office hours.  We strive to foster an environment of mutual respect with students.  In this way, each student can develop a sense of belonging and ownership of the IRC and the greater campus community.

 Our Services

Students can expect a variety of services designed to complement the college experience and ensure student success.  Among these resources are individual mentoring, small group workshops, year-specific advising, leadership development, social programming, visiting lecturers, conference participation, trips, and more.

We look forward, each year, to growing the IRC family; because every student contributes something exciting and important to the campus.  The Office of Intercultural Advancement provides the support, opportunities and tools to develop student potential.

 Our Mission

The Office of Intercultural Advancement is dedicated to creating a diverse and culturally-enlightened community based on mutual respect and understanding.  We believe that for students to grow cognitively and effectively, we must provide a diverse environment which fosters critical dialogue and reflection while valuing and appreciating differences.
