International Student Advisor

The International Student Advisor is Victor Arcelus, and he also serves as the Associate Director of Residence Life. Victor is originally from Long Island, New York, but has been living in rural Pennsylvania for the past 15 years. His first language is Spanish and most of his extended family resides in Montevideo, Uruguay. He graduated from Bucknell University (PA) with a B.A. in Biology and Spanish and continued at Bucknell for his MSED in Counseling. Prior to coming to Gettysburg College, Victor worked at Bucknell University in Residence Life and completed his coursework towards his PhD in Higher Education (Area of Concentration: Anthropology) from The Pennsylvania State University. He is currently writing his dissertation. Victor, his wife, Julie, and their son, Matias, live in a home across the street from campus. Victor's other interests include rowing, sailing, and hiking with his family. Please do not hesitate to contact Victor if you have any questions.
