Resources
Below are resources and services you should consider while at Gettysburg College.
- Driver License - If you are interested in acquiring a driver license you will need to take a written test and a road test. You can arrange this at the local Gettysburg Drivers License Center. For the road test you will need a vehicle and a licensed driver over 21 years of age. The International Student Advisor can arrange for you to use a College vehicle for the test and the Advisor can accompany you to the test. Click here for more information.
- Social Security Number - If you plan to work on campus or through CPT or OPT you must have a Social Security Number (SSN). To apply for a SSN you must already have a job and have your first proof of payment (check or direct deposit notice). See the International Student Advisor to arrange for transportation to the local Social Security Administration Office in Chambersburg, PA. Click here for further information.
- Storage - Storage space is available to all international students in Colonial Hall. There are no limits to the types of items and the amount of items that can be stored, but all items must belong to the particular international student. You can have access to storage by appointment in late August and during final exam weeks in December and May. Please contact Victor Arcelus with questions or to schedule an appointment.
- Transportation - Gettysburg College offers students transportation through pre-scheduled shuttles and through individualized reservations. Click here for further information.
