Current Students
International Students at Gettysburg College have many opportunities and resources available to them. The International Student Advisor is available to help students make the most of their experience. Each student also works closely with the International Student Advisor to ensure that he or she is maintaining their F-1 status while attending the College. The series of pages within Current Students contain information about frequently used campus/area resources, as well as information to help guide you in your decision making process so that you maintain your F-1 status.
Resources - For information on resources an services such as: applying for a drivers license, applying for a social security number, access to storage, or area transportation click here.
Maintaining Status - Students must carefully follow all Federal and College policies related to maintaining status as an F-1 student. If there is a policy violation, you run the risk of jeopardizing your F-1 status and therefore impacting your ability to remain enrolled at the College. You should work closely with the International Student Advisor to discuss expectations and questions you may have about this topic. Information regarding your status is maintained by the International Student Advisor through a system called SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). SEVIS is an online database that ultimately generates each student's I-20. For information on common topics related to maintaining status click here.
